I’m really looking for a ring that is not like every other one out there. I’ve been going back to this ring over and over for the past few months and am almost sure I have made my decision, but before biting the bullet I want to see what other some others think. Is it tacky? Is it ugly? Is it cheap looking?
Here is the ring: http://www.moissaniteco.com/round-brilliant-moissanite-bypass-semibezel-engagement-ring-p-16959.html
I know it all depends on who I am giving it to is, and I think she’ll like it, but I want to see what others think.
Because it will be asked: she is open to Moissanite. We have discussed it.
I was pointed to weddingbee from reddit. I have never heard of this site, so sorry if I break any posting rules.

frow-a-weigh: I think it’s quite beautiful and unique in its design. Has she given you any hints what type of cut she likes or setting? Either way congrats on your upcoming proposal!

Not tacky or ugly at all! You said you wanted something unique and this is it so congratulations she will love it 🙂

It’s definitely not tacky, ugly, or cheap-looking. It is not my personal style–I prefer a simpler setting with a thinner band–but if you think it’s her style, go for it.

Not my personal style, but you know her best and if my Fiance proposed with that ring I wouldn’t say no. I would probably love it.

frow-a-weigh: I think it’s really pretty. My only thing is it seems a little thick. Would your girlfriend mind such a thick ring or would she like thinner bands? That’s the only thing id think about. I tried to find the width on there but I can’t see one.

I would ask her best friend if she’s hinted about what style she likes best or show it to someone else who knows her style to confirm. I like it a lot, it’s different and very pretty.

TrueLove407: Hmm. that’s an intersting point. I hadn’t noticed it was thick. Hmm. I wish I could see it on someones finger before ordering. Can’t seem to find anyone who owns it on the web.
@Everyone else: thanks for your replies. You’re giving me more confidence in it.

I absolutely love that ring! I got my moissanite ring 4 years ago when there was like… a tenth of the selection there is now. I put together a list of my top five favourite settings from moiss-co just for shits and giggles (no intention of buying another ring) but that ring is on my list. And I love how thick and comfortable looking it is! I say go for it!

MrsYokiman: that’s pretty close. Not exactly it, but gives me somewhat of an idea.

I don’t think it’s ugly or cheap looking at all. Yes it is very unique but that’s the look you were going for. You should order it and if it’s not what you were expecting you can return it and chose something else. Goodluck

I really like it. The ring reminds me of ocean waves. It’s good that it looks like there is a matching band – that seems to be half the battle with unusual rings.
As PP said, I’d make sure she is comfortable with that much ring (does she usually wear lots of jewelry or chunky rings?). If so, I really like it and it is definitely unique!

It is a lovely ring. It doesn’t look cheap at all. I agree about it looking pretty thick but often that is good if she works and doesnt want to damage it. It will probably be more comfortable too just maybe not as dainty as some traditional settings.
Really nice and you know her best. Good luck! x
