I’m just having a hard time deciding between the two.
My FH will be wearing his dress blues (military uniform) and I’m looking for a dress that will compliment him as well as me.
Dress#2: Here it is shown in pink, but I tried it on in white
The top of this dress looks not fitted enough because the clip popped off just in time for the shot haha I tried holding it together with my hands

I honestly think the top of both of the skirts are a bit too much, they seem to swallow you up a bit! Have you tried something similar but with a bit slimmer at the hips?

@christoffels: Thanks for your suggestion! I was actually thinking the same thing when I was trying them on. So I decided that I’d want to take out layers of crinoline to make it more of a full bodied a-line to fit my body style more so it doesn’t look like I’m drowning in it haha
I tried a-line dresses as well, (the look I was going for when I was thinking of “dream dress”) but I just felt like they did nothing for me :/

I really dislike the 2nd dress, not on you, but just in general. I do not think it’s anything special at all. You look like a PRINCESS in the first dress. I voted for that one. However, the first dress looks a bit less poofy on the model than on you. I wonder if the dress was brand new to the store? If so, it may need to be smushed down a bit (which would happen to your dress when it comes in, too – brand new dresses are just a bit stiffer usually).
But, I do think you should keep looking since they’re a bit too much/too poofy. You can always take some crinoline out though, so there’s that.

@cacy: i love the first dress on you.

I think the first gown is so beautiful (one of my favourite Veras) and would look really good with your FI’s military uniform. I know that sounds strange, but I think the bodice embellishment is really regal-looking, and the self-stripe detail in the skirt is more modern and preppy – and both of those elements fit really well with a military look while managing to keep that sense of romance. I LOVE that gown on you, it’s also incredibly flattering and makes your waist look tiny without adding bulk to your bottom half (as a lot of ballgowns tend to).
The second gown is not one of my favourites – in the pink, it adds some interest, but in the white, it really seems clear that the peplum/overskirt looks like an afterthought. And it’s far less flattering than the first gown.

@futuremrsk18: Thank you for your input! I was the first to try it on I believe, or at least one of the first.
@mypinkshoes: Thank you! I felt really good in it 🙂
@peonyinparis: Thank you! I fell in love with the bodice detail too. That’s what originally got me to even try it on. I’m so glad you took the time to basically say what I couldn’t. Complimenting my FH along with myself (hopefully making him tear up a bit haha) is exactly what I’m going for. What you said isn’t strange at all 🙂
