- Wedding: February 2014
Hello! I’m new here so I hope i’m posting to the right place? I’m getting married (I’m saying it – I can’t believe it!) in 2013 and have practically picked out the veil I want (I waffle between two choices). The problem I’m having is finding a dress that I instantly feel like, “That’s what I’m looking for!” I’ve come close and I’m wondering if it even exists or if this is something I should either just settle for or have custom made – in which case, does anyone have any recommendations for someone that can make a custom dress in the Los Angeles area? I’d like to spend under 800 dollars but we’ll see. Maybe someone has come across my dream dress – I can describe it through multiple other dresses…
(Sorry if the pictures end up being massive).
I really like the bust/front and flow and textiles of this dress:
But I would like a waistline that reaches lower, right at the smallest part of the waist in an upside down v, so that it hugs and follows the ribs. I would like the sleeves to not be pinched as they are up there in that picture, but rather to be a wide v so that it’s off the shoulder or falls like so (I think that may be cap sleeved):
and a back along the line of these (I also like the texture of all of the dresses below as well):
Keeping with what I said above about what I definitely want regarding the back and bust/waist/sleeve areas, I also like this material/texture and the way it falls:
It’s strange – It’s like each of these dresses has something I really like, but then other aspects that I know are not my deal. The back is beautiful but I’m not keen on the front, the front is beautiful but not a flattering waistline for me, etc. When I was little, my mom gave me a diary and the artist had painted a woman on the front that was wearing a beautiful, romantic lace dress. I don’t know the artist, but I know the dress in my head is totally that dress. I would love to find something close to it.
Thanks in advance for any guidance! So glad to have come across WeddingBee.
