I have no idea what I’m doing and I’ve been struggling to figure out what accessories I want and what will look good with my dress. So far I have my dress and my shoes. My mom also has a lot of costume jewlery from my great-grandma and I know that some of it is blue. I plan to try to find the condition of it and see if anything is worth using sometime soon. My wedding colors are blue and silver and the shoe I just bought tonight are blue. Since my wedding is in November I was thinking I should find something to keep me warm. (would blue be too bold of a color or should I just stick with white to match my dress?) Also, since I have a halter dress I don’t know if I need a necklace. I don’t want to look too busy and I really really want a sweet, romantic, funky look that is kinda quirky. Any help will be beyond appreciated.
This is the dress:
I will be wearing a birdcage veil however and am thinking about making the fascinator myself this week (maybe I could do that blue and keep the jacket white?)
And these are the shoes I just bought: http://tinyurl.com/27cbk6b
I’m thinking I’m not going to grow my hair out much longer then it already is.
THANKS AGAIN SO SO SO MUCH!

With the neckline I would keep it simple. Maybe just a simple pendant. I think anything chunky would overwhelm the dress.

@tksjewelry: It does look a little naked without a necklace so that’s a good idea.

Or maybe something like this I agree I would keep it simple too.

Personally, with that neckline and a birdcage veil, I’d go without a necklace. I’d use the costume jewelry to accessorize – rings, bracelets, earrings! When do you get to see your great grandmother’s collection?

@Beluga: I’m going to try to get to my mothers house soon to take a look. I know she has a lot of jewelry I just don’t know how much of it would match and in what condition it is in as most of it is very old.

I think with a halter you can go a few different ways.
You can go without a necklace and wear a great pair of chandelier earrings.
You could go with a simple necklace and earrings. A “Y” neckace or drop necklace with coordinating earrings would look nice.
Pearls always go with every bridal (personal opinion).
Then you can go with something really dramatic like this.

It just depends on what you would like the general feel of your look to be.
Oh! and great shoes!!!

I also wanted to add, that vintage jewelry is my favorite! Before you choose anything look at your grandma’s jewelry. You might find something spectacular there. Then I hope you share pictures!!

I feel like necklaces can look weird with halter dresses- I think you can add earrings, bracelet, rings, in chunky vintage costume jewelry and it will look awesome with a birdcage veil. Also, if you get anyhing to keep yourself warm, I vote for white.

drop earrings, not necklace

ditto to you both
i think halters look weird with necklaces, but it would be great with long earrings (esp if you have a fascinator with a birdcage veil)

i agree: no neclace with halter, but dangle earings yes. i think it would look pretty with a pop of color in your fascinator and a white jacket.

I too suggest no necklace, just some pretty earrings and definitely a bracelet!

@Cant_wait: where did you find that bracelet at? I love it!

I agree with @cant_wait – no necklace with a halter but a great bracelet and earrings would be gorgeous…
