The fact that you can’t take pictures makes it sound a little fishy… so I’d be wary. Also check dress resale websites, I found some really neat ones that were never worn! You may find what you like at a better price. Also see if there are any other bridal shops you can try dresses on in the area? Like I said, their business practice just sounds really fishy, I wouldn’t go there again.

Yeah, I would maybe try some where else just because of the fact that you can’t take pictures and they won’t tell you the designers name?! No honey, I wold RUN! Run far away!!!!
There are plenty of other stores out there who are not as sketchy!

I tend to agree. I’m pretty certain I won’t be buying from them, but I am still curious about that dress. I’ve tried on similar styles, but that one hit every mark. It would be ideal if I could get the same dress elsewhere. – Which is ironic, because if they let me take pictures and send one to my mom, I probably would
have purchased there.

I must say that my initial thought when youdescribed a boutique where they wouldn’t allow you to know the dress designer or style was ‘WTF?!?’.Maybe it’s just me but if I am going to be parting with >$1000 for an item of clothing then I believe I am surely within my rights to know the designer?!? Some people would be more/less happy about spending a certain amount of money depending on the designer. I find this very strange.
Also, none of the above suggestions are spot on but it goes to show how many beautiful gowns there are available that meet almost all of the specifications of the one you tried. You never know how amazing one of THOSE would look on!

You are totally right. I guess I have to suck it up and try others on – but I’m feel a little beat down trying on dresses. I’ve been to most of the boutiques in the immediate area and have to travel 40+ minutes to go to ones I haven’t tried yet.
At one boutique I forgot pictures but explictly described what I wanted. My consultant (the owner) kept bringing me gowns with pick-ups, drop waist, or mermaids.
I’m also not a sample size and I’m sick of being squished in too small gowns.
Sorry to complain, but I’m just ready to find my dress!
