 i never heard rules about it and i did it. i thought it was a nice way to thank them.

Hmm I have never seen it done but I think it would be nice, Nice advertisment and a good way to say thank you!!

I think I’ve seen it as included information on the same page (different paragraph) with your thank you to your guests

@runsyellowlites: yup thats how i did it. i had so little guests that i was able to list all their names too and thank them for travelling!

There are a few brides who still do this.  However, I have noticed that many do not.  Although vendors appreciate the exposure of the acknowledgement, particularly if they are a small company, it is ultimately up to the bride if she wants to do this.  I have found that if guests want to know about a particular vendor, they can ask the bride who did what for her wedding.
