Long-time lurker coming out of the woodwork!
My Fiance just picked up our wedding bands. When trying on rings, I voiced the concern that all the wedding bands had higher profiles than my e-ring, causing them all to be wider ( in the east-west direction). The jeweler said I wouldn’t notice it and i made a selection. Well, I’ve been wearing it all night since he brought it home and it really bugs me! I don’t mind that the band is taller than the e-ring shank on the top, but on the side of the finger it really looks just a hair wider on both sides. Is there a way to have wedding band tapered on the sides to match the e-ring shape better? Maybe hollowing out some of the gold from inside the band? It’s only a half-eternity band. Every other band I tried on looked beefy compared to my e-ring. The e-ring is on the daintier side ( the setting is my mom’s made in the 70’s). Tastes and trends have obviously changed since then so even plain bands I tried on didn’t look quite right.
