naancee :  Our jeweler suggested a J color for us and he said he suggested it to most of his customers. He said it’s the best value and you can’t tell with the naked eye if it’s in a good setting. Also you can’t really tell a difference unless it’s side by side with another diamond and you’re really looking for differences, like the example above, but your ring will probably never be side by side with another diamond of similar size so it doesn’t really matter. I think all the other stats on your diamond are good so I wouldn’t worry about it.

My center stone is a VS2 J 1.43ct.  When I took it to be resized, my jeweler was very surprised that it was graded J color, she thought it was more colorless than that.

I have a 1.51 ct VS1, TripleXXX, J color diamond and I get tons of compliments on it. It always looks sparkly and bright!  Yours will be amazing!  🙂

I have a J color, just under 1 carat, VS2 clarity, excellent cut/polish/symmetry (GIA) and it looks perfectly white and sparkly to me, no yellow at all. It has medium flourescence which is supposed to help lessen any color. When we were researching diamonds, I did read that larger diamonds will show more color than smaller diamonds.  Ideal/excellent cut is also supposed to help improve color (probably because your eyes are so blinded by the sparkles!). I’m so happy with my J I would definitely go J for any future diamonds I purchased.  The savings is great compared to higher colors. 🙂
