(Closed) Can you remove boning on a lace-up back?

I have not had this done, but I am a seamstress. You can remove the boning, and it would not be a difficult process; however, if you remove the boning, you will lose some of the shape to the gown. Unless, you have no extra skin/back fat, I would not recommend removing it because every little flaw will probably show. You will also risk the back of your gown slipping by removing the boning.

@AngelS: Depending on what your dress looks like in the back, a zipper would be much better, if you are going to get rid of the boning. It will add some stability to the back of the gown, if it is put in right. It wouldn’t be as likely to slip. If you just have the corset back without the boning, you risk the corset loosening and slipping, so the zipper would be the best option.
