OK so I made an appointment for an eye exam the other day with a new doctor. Thought nothing of it and all I knew was the doctor was a male. So I walk into my appointment this morning and who is the doctor?
………………MY EX!!!! It was never a serious relationship, but still! I knew he was an eye doctor, of course, but he lives an hour away and I NEVER in a million years thought that he would be practicing in my state nevermind at the office which is in the same mall I’ve been working in for 10 months!!! We had a good laugh and while it was slightly awkward, we caught up and all was well…minus the “wow dark office with a patient I’ve hooked up with…only had this in a fantasy” comments that he was making – but we always had a joking relationship so I just laughed it off!
Just had to share this story with someone!
On a different note I found some FABULOUS new glasses that I am oh so excited about :o)

Whoa – weird coincidence. Very funny, especially since it sounds like it wasn’t really traumatic, just a little weird but also nice to catch up.

What a surprise! Are you going to continue to have him as your eye doc? My ex’ best friend was my longtime dentist but I stopped going to him after I got married, even though he was great. His office is kind of far away and hubby and i figured we would find a ‘family’ dentist together.

haha! wow! What a small world!!! That is a little awkward but it sounds like it wasn’t that bad and makes for a great story. Congrats on your glasses!

I am moving from New Husband to TX this coming Monday so I don’t plan on going back to him, but if I am in the area in a year (which I may be finishing up wedding details) and need an appointment I’d go back – he is a good doctor and I think it would be less awkward if I went back because it would be expected. Besides…other eye doctors creep me out I’d rather have someone I know LOL

Wow, that is wild! What a surprise that must have been. 🙂

Do you live in an episode of Friends?! LOL! That’s too weird!!!

Haha, wow, super random! At least it wasn’t a more personal doctor visit.
I went to grad school at a place where there weren’t undergrads – it was just PhD or MD candidates and it was a small school so we all partied together a lot. But…when you went in for a doctors appointment somewhere they’d ask you if their rotating med student could come in and it’s like NOOOOOOOOO…..I don’t want the guy I go out drinking with down my shirt.

LOL Troubled thats too funny – and you are right if it was a more personal doctor I probably would have just canceled the appointment on the spot. Having him check me out but only examine my eyes was a lot more comfortable lol

OMG agree with Troubled!!! As for the eye doctor, yeah, that would be weird but I guess it all depends on the kind of relationship one had and how it ended. For me, usually the guy was a loser and I realized it quickly after first dating and we were done in a month or two so I wouldn’t want to see their sorry butts ever 🙂 HAHA

Lol. Wow that is a good one. You know what? He would have seen his patients names before the appointments. I bet he was fantasizing about you all day until your appointment. lol

Wow, that would be awkward. Its always the strangest feeling when you see ex’s.

Aaw, why do other eye doctors creep you out?! you could come to me! I’m in Mass! Come to think of it… I wonder if I know your ex! If you’re in New Husband my guess is that he went to school in Boston? that would be weird if I knew him too!
