I definitely think it is worth it to spend the extra money on a name brand Moissanite. I have to C&C round brilliants that are gorgeous and sparkle like crazy. I have also purchased several India Moissanite, all of them are colored stones, and they are pretty and they sparkle but there is really no comparison. I wouldn’t want one in an engagement/wedding ring. I plan to keep a couple of them and set them in a cheap silver setting, then sell the rest.

I forgot about this thread, but I can update now. Here’s my OEC from China. GH color and it’s pretty white. Cost: $143 (stone only). It was another $150 to have it reset into my existing setting (had to change the head size to accommodate the larger stone). So, less than $300 and I love it:

avafox : i think it depends on what you want. If you want white, i’d go name brand. With the colored stones… i’d Do trial and error on eBay.
i bought way too many stones off eBay until I found just the right one. Lovely cut and the color is great. But I have a lot of bad ones at home, or ones that weren’t quite right.
My center stone is blue moissanite off of eBay, with c&c side bagguettes. In my dream world, I would have been able to get an a more gem in this shade of blue.

here4thegems : Thanks! I had it custom made to fit the stone by an etsy jeweler who no longer exists called DanielM.
cmsgirl : Aw thanks so much! With my new emerald cut stone this one hasn’t been out and about too often, but I do love her so. <3

dracarys : Your ring and stone are absolutely gorgeous! I would never have guessed at the cost – would you mind passing on the name/link of the vendor of the stone and setting?
