journeyintime : We’re also on the pull-out method train. I’m 6 months postpartum and just got my period back a few weeks ago despite exclusively breastfeeding and not having introduced solids yet. Such utter bullshit! It was very weird though – I was getting all this EWCM so I decided to take an OPK to see what’s going on and it was blazing positive. So I figured I had two weeks or so before AF. NOPE, that bitch arrived 5 days after the positive OPK, at 10pm while we were out of town at a hotel and I had zero supplies. Had to send D.H. out for tampons lol. So yeah my cycle is back but def not normal yet, which I attribute to breastfeeding.
I still see a faint something on that test, but idk – FRERs can be real fucky sometimes.

journeyintime : are you exclusively breastfeeding? Or Boyfriend or Best Friend with solids? I’m 8 months pp and still no period…we want to start trying again around the 1 year mark, so I’ve started supplementing with formula in addition to solids, and only nurse about 3 times in a 24 hour period (and no night feedings). Still no period :/

n00bee : she is fully established on solids now, combined with breastfeeding. But still feeding at night so we don’t go much longer then 6 hours. No signs of period here though! I will test in a few days to be sure 🤷♀️ I hope you fall quickly when you start trying!

n00bee : I had to totally wean my son (at 14 months) before I got a period back. Even going down to once a day for over a month didn’t do it. Everyone is different but for me breastfeeding at all meant no period. I ovulated exactly 2 weeks after I stopped. Not to threadjack just a side note bc I wondered about this!

journeyintime : thank you! Hope all goes swimmingly for you too
purplepie45 : thanks!! I think that may be the case for me too, which is tough- on the one hand, I don’t want to wait too long to start trying again. On the other hand, neither of us (me and the baby) are ready to totally give up breastfeeding.
