Fiance & I are in a bit of a unique situation. He’s originally from Australia, and pretty much all of his friends/family are still there. Some are also scattered in England, Germany and Poland.
The wedding is in America, about 20 minutes from my hometown and all my friends/family.
We knew we had to give his side ample time to save money and book holiday time/flights/hotels, way more than my side would need. So we made the decision to do two separate Save-The-Date Cards: one for the American guests, and one for the international guests. We’re sending out the international guest Save-The-Date Cards about one year/13 months before wedding, and American Save-The-Date Cards at the normal time.
I have two questions then I guess!
1. Should we also do 2 separate invitations, and send out the international invites earlier than American ones?
2. If Fiance decides to invite more people after the Save-The-Date Cards have gone out, is it okay to just email them the date and then send them a formal invite with everyone else? Or can you only send invites to people who got Save-The-Date Cards originally? I’m not sure if it’s rude to send someone an invitation if they didn’t also receive an STD.
