iamdre:  Yes, of course you can.  With or without a hypen.  I hypenated and know plenty of others that did too.

You can take two last names, but you will have to petition the court after marriage. The name change on your marriage license will only allow you to hyphenate, keep your name, take his name, or make up a new last name entirely. You also have the option to change your middle name to your last name or his last name, if you so choose.
