I would just ask, you are a customer looking to purchase from them they might be ok with it. It’s not as if your trying to compare your gown to one of thiers. Some salons may not be cool with it though. I would just call and ask.

Def call and ask. But I bought my dress at a salon then took it to a David’s Bridal to try on slips and they showed me veils too. So my guess is this is pretty normal.

@cherryblossomlove:  Call and get the okay from the store manager if possible, not just anyone out on the floor. Sometimes if you take a dress in from another salon, they don’t want other customers to see it. If a customer sees your dress, likes it, and wants to try it on, the salon obviously can’t accommodate them. They might let you in early in the morning before the store fills up. I was able to try on an old dress at a new salon this way and it worked well. Just be very polite and understanding if they say no.

I did the opposite — I bought a dress elsewhere and David’s allowed me to bring it in and try it on with a veil of theirs. It doesn’t hurt to ask! 🙂
