I was wondering if anyone knows if I can turn my Monique Lhuillier “Elle” A-line tulle gown into a ball gown by adding a hoop skirt? After talking to my fiance, I know that he really likes the look of the full ball gown.

That’s pretty close to a ballgown anyway, so if you have a big hoop under it, it will def satisfy any desires your Fiance has to see you in a ballgown.
Just remember that it will make the skirt shorter, so tell your seamstress what you’re doing before making any length alterations.

You could maybe just even add more crinoline and not have to bother with a hoop. I’d talk to your seamstress.

I agree with WhiteRoseRed. You should preferably have the hoop before you go for alterations so the seamstress can see what alterations are needed.

It depends on how your a-line skirt is cut. A ball gown style skirt is much fuller and has enough fabric to accommodate a hoop. With an a-line you should probably just stick to a crinoline petticoat for added fullness.
