…. to buy other gift cards or a VISA gift card? We didn’t register at Walmart but have gotten quite a few Walmart cards and some items we’d like to take back to Walmart. While we’ve very appreciate of the thoughtfulness that someone would even get us a gift we would like to use the money somewhere else for other things. Anyone know if you can use your gift cards and return credits to buy VISA gift cards so we can shop where we want or like a Bed Bath and Beyond gift card or something? (And yes I know we could use it on groceries but if we can, we’d like to use them to get cards so we could shop at other stores or even use the VISA cards on our honeymoon.) Thanks in advance!

Generally speaking, you can’t use a gift card to buy a different gift card, but there are plenty of cashiers at wal-mart and other stores that don’t know this. Not sure if you want to play some cashier roulette and see what they let you do.
Check out http://plasticjungle.com where you can sell or trade gift cards. that might be easier than trying to find an untrained Walmart cashier.

hahaha cashier roulette! Love it! That’s kind of what I was thinking but I didn’t know if it was a possibility or not. Thanks for the info on Plastic Jungle! I’ll have to check that out! Like I said in the OP, we’re very grateful for the gifts in general but we’re in our late 20s and have been living on our own for some time and already have most of our general “starter home” type items and had our eyes on some upgrades and even some Lowe’s or Home Depot cards as we are building our house. Thanks so much for your help! I really appreciate it!
