I don’t see why you couldn’t.  Give it a try and see if you like the results!

I don’t know how that would look. Can I ask why you want to?

Are you going with the true corset, steel boning and all? It may be bulky depending on the style of your dress. I love corsets and wear them all the time. You honestly wouldn’t be comfortable. It would prevent you from breathing properly if you layer like that.

yeah i also wonder about how comfortable you would be, i hate corsets because the boning pokes me in all the wrong places. when i first put it on i feel like i can take it but after a few hours of sitting down in it, just cant take it any longer

I tried a corset back dress on with a boned and lined corset and it was fine. However, the bodice was sturdy taffeta – a fabric like satin or chiffon would have totally allowed the corset to poke through. Ask your salon – they are the experts.

You might be able to wear a bustier under the dress (with just hook and eye closures on the back.  It has boning and cups, just no lace up back.

It will be very bulky and defeat the purpose of having the corset back dress.

I wore a bustier with the hook and eye closure under a tie up corset dress with the modesty panel. I just found that it laid flatter.

@RedSergeSpouse: does your username mean what I think it does?  If so, I think we have something in common 🙂

I plan to where a “hard core” steel-boned corset. I’m probably going to have my dress altered, but I’m keeping my plan to were a corset in mind while shopping.

I am doing a full steel boned corset. My dress is also taffeta, it doesn’t show through. but a wear one regularly so it feels more natural to me.
