So there’s a lot of discussion on the hive on whether to wear a veil or not. I think I’m going to wear one because it completes the bridal look.. And when else will I ever get a chance to wear one!
Now i have been thinking of the whole ceremony where the bride walks in with her face veiled. And then after the ceremony the groom lifts the veil to see her face and kiss her. I think it’s a symbol of “consummating” the marriage..
Now who are we kidding most of us aren’t virgins anymore! It just seems silly to me.. Haha.
So I’m thinking is it possible to wear a veil pinned to your hair, without covering your face for the whole ceremony? Anyone tried this before or thinking of doing so?

I feel like most people wear their veils this way….I don’t see too many brides with their veil covering their faces. My veil could be made with or without a blusher, I feel like most are made this way.

The veil was also a way of hiding the bride’s face, so the groom didn’t know what she looked like (and thus less likely to refuse to marry her) before after he said the vows.
My grandmother has a veil that she and her daughters wore, and she’s offered it to me to wear. I want to see if I like the way it looks with my dress, but if I wear a veil it will be that one and it won’t cover my face but be pinned in my hair. It’s a fairly common way of wearing them.

The vast majority of veils are worn so they do not cover the face. I wore one pinned in my hair but not covering my face. This is quite common.

Veils that are made to cover your face a completely different style. They are usually double with one part shorter. I persknally don’t like the look of the covered face and always knew I’d wear it the other way. As most have said, that’s more common these days.

I’m wearing a regular veil and a blusher that covers my face. It’s more traditional. However it’s a personal choice. Most brides don’t wear the blusher.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone on here or IRL with a veil covering their face…
