“White and long”. That is the extent of his ability to discribe the most important dress of my life. 😛 Ahhh, men.

These are hilarious!  I’m asking hubby now . . .

“Beautiful. I don’t know the picture of it is right there.  It was pretty.  Had some lace. No shoulder straps. It had like, I don’t know what the fit is called, it’s like a semi-mermaid thing. More form fitting and then goes out, is it the mermaid thing? I remember that you were wearing it. “

He was pretty close!

This thread is great.  While our wedding hasn’t happened yet, PBear went shopping with me when I picked out the dress, and saw me parade around the apartment multiple times.  I asked him to describe my dress, and he didn’t get any further than it’s ivory.

*Shrug* At least it’ll still be a surprise to him on our wedding day.

He said, “It was fluffy and made your boobs look hot.”  I asked him to elaborate and he said, “I dunno!  It was heart shaped on the top and the rest of it had all these fluffy flowers all over.  Lots of buttons in the back.”  He was so right!

“It came up to here *holds hands above chest* it had lace *points at arms* um… it kinda poofed out a little just below the waist.  There was lace there too, with bugs in it”

lol we had a problem with bugs getting caught in the fabric of my dress during pictures

not a terrible description, here is my dress

“Pretty ivory with flowery pattern lace toward the top and then it gets wider at the bottom…wait a second is this for the bee????”

Not bad LOL…not sure if I like “get’s wider”…but it’s sort of A-line so I get it hahaha!  Ivory yes.  Flowery no.  Lace yes.  🙂

Edit:  We’re not married yet.  Fiance did help me pick out the dress and went with me to my first fitting…though he has never really seen it on me.

This is great! We had this conversation last weekend!  We were at my brothers wedding and my uncle asked if he remembered.

DH said “It was white.  had lots of sparkle at the top, laces in the back, and was long enough that I kept braking the bustle and lots of wrinkles” <guestures in a Z from boobs to waist>

<sees my face at wrinkles>

“Creases?”

“Folds!!!!”

“gah, I don’t know!!!!”

<Uncle laughing hysterically now as DH sputters>

Gotta give him credit that he tried to describe the ruching!!!!

I expected him to be good at this- he prides himself on being into fashion.  My husband said, “White, tight through the top, straps, beads on top, a-line, the train was 18 inches as short as you could get it.”

My dress- white, fitted through trunk, halter, ribbons (not beads), trumpet, sweep train.

But his best line before the wedding when I was stressing about it- “All that matters is how it looks on the floor.”  Love him!

Ahahahaha!  Funniest thread ever!  I have actually laughed out loud at a few of these.  We just got married only 2 weekends ago(!) and all my husband said was:

“It was white.”  (Then he saw my face, which I was trying to keep expressionless, but must have failed).

“I mean, it was Ivory.”

“It wasn’t long.” (Again, sees my face.) “I mean, it was long, but it wasn’t wide.”

“It had lacy strap things here (gesturing to my shoulders).”

“You had your boobs out here” (gesturing to his boob area).

“What?  Your boobs were nice!”

For the record, I did NOT have my boobs “out”.  I don’t even think I had much cleavage!  He was accurate, but yes…..left out a LOT of detail.  Don’t have my pro-pics back, but see below:

“It was nice.”

“It was ivory…. it wasn’t fluffy.”

“It was elegant.”

That’s all I could get out of my poor sick hubby.

Ha.

“It was white and it was strapless, and it was silk and it was the kind of silk that you can feel the stitchings, and it fluted out and you made a petticoat so it fluted out more. And then you made the thing that went on .. was it on the side? or on the back? it was on the back.”

By “the thing on the back,” I think he means the sash that had a flower on the side and buttons on the back.

This is a vast improvement over when I first asked him, and he was mid nap, and he just said “pretty… white.”

“It was triangular. And poofy.” Yep – eloquent.
