I’ve never been to a wedding with a cash bar. It’s either an open bar or a twoonie bar.

I’m from Alberta, and every wedding I’ve been to has been a toonie bar or a cash bar. It’s just assumed I guess. My dad/step mom did one free drink, the rest paid. I always bring 20 bucks or so for a cash bar if I want to drink.
My experience is similar to others from Toronto – I have never been to a wedding without an open bar and, in general, cash bars are frowned upon here.
I’m from Southeastern Ontario and I have never been to a wedding with an open bar. Our venue offers both options, and even though cash bars are completely normal around here, I considered full open bar – but in the end, we decided against it. Mostly because neither me nor my Fiance drink (he is 5 years sober). It would have doubled our catering costs, too, which was also a factor in the decision making.
We are, however, having 2 bottles of wine on each table during dinner.
