@sanjessica:  Never used a univeral registry, but sounds a bit complex. The Bay isn’t *that* expensive. I know a few people who have registered there. As long as you have a variety of price points, I think it’s fine. There’s also many locations and they have a pretty good website, so I think it would be convenient for your guests to use. It’s your wedding.. splash out a little πŸ˜‰

@sanjessica:  I have never heard of a universal regisrty but like previous poster said it does sound a bit complex. I agree The Bay is quite pricy but they do have some great quality things. I registered at Kitchen Stuff Plus for my shower (having a destination wedding) and I’m proud to say I got almost EVERYTHING I registered for even the $200 pot set I wanted so badly. Their prices are so reasonable and they have so many sales that I thought it was a great place to register. Granted you cant get any bedding or towels there but I didnt want that stuff anyways

@sanjessica:  KSP has such good prices and the stuff is really good! The best part was that they send you an email each time someone buys something off of your registry and I loved that πŸ™‚ I dont have much linens or towels either but since I dont have a house yet I dont even know what colours I would want so decided to pass on those and buy them myself later on

@sanjessica:  I registered at the bay and things went on and off sale all the time. I had $300 luggage set but more often than not it was on sale for $100. Sheets would be regular $160 and then go on sale to $75 etc. There are also lots of things at lower price points as well.

Anyways, I also registered at Bed bath and beyond which helped get a lot of my lower price point items ( plus they always have 20% coupons in the paper/they accept competitor coupons). I found that it was more my younger friends that used BBB registry but all of my relatives, older guests preferred the Bay. Also, the BBB gifts were perchased for the shower and the Bay items were purchased as wedding gifts.

We registered at Bed Bath and Beyond and with myregistry.com . We went with Bed Bath and Beyond for most kitchen stuff, towels, sheets, etc. We picked them over the Bay simply because we didn’t have to meet with anyone to set it up (did it all online).

We used myregistry.com as our universal registry. So far we’ve found it to work quite well. We were able to add stuff from many stores that don’t have registries (ex. pampered chef, home depot, canadian tire, etc.). The only downside to the registry has been that the iPhone app doesn’t work well. Other than that, it’s great πŸ™‚

@sanjessica:  I’m registered at the same two stores.

You can actually register at Sears or Walmart too πŸ™‚

So many people like to print off the registry at the store.

Most people know not to buy anything at the Bay if it isn’t on sale.  BB&B was great, I just wish they got with the Canadian standard and offered the free in-store pick up service like the Bay.

Snooty would be Williams Sonoma. lol

You could also check out Crate & Barrel and Home Outfitters.
