What exactly are you looking for specifically? And where are you located in Canada?

Where I am, I can always go to a Michael’s or any art supply store like Curry’s. Art supply stores won’t have specific bridal stuff, but they have supplies so it works out.

Edit: Didn’t think to click on your profile. Montreal should have art supply stores and there are some Michael’s craft stores in Montreal. Check those out.

jennycatherine:  You are close to the border. Set up an account at a mail receiver like Kinek or Border MailDepot in Champlain, NY.

You can order what you like, usually get free shipping because it is in the US, drive across the border and pick up your things. I do this all the time. I declare everything at the border and am almost never sent in to pay taxes (there is no duty on most things with NAFTA).

Many brides sell their decor after the wedding. http://www.searchtempest.com displays all ads from all Craigslist sites in one place. You can set your search to Canada and your postal code to find things close to you.

What Julies1949 said! I have saved a BUNDLE doing this, as I live right on the BC-Washington border. I have only had to pay taxes once, and it was when I was carrying $500 worth over. Michaels and Joann sales are the bomb.

I have been able to find a lot of items in the local dollar stores. Dollar Tree and Dollarama both carry quite a bit of craft supplies here.

I have also shopped on Amazon.ca for some items. We do not have a Michaels within 3 hours of me but I did sign up for their email promotions and get one 40 or 50% of one regular price item coupons about once a month. One just happened to come in just as I was going to a city with a store in it.

I just went through this. I spent $40 on PEARLS for my centerpeices and more than half of the vendros wouldn’t ship to Canada. It must be a law or something about shipping small items.

I can’t do a Dollar Store… I just can’t and Michael’s was way too expensive. Wherre in Canada are you? In Ontario I found a few jewelry vendors that would sell in bulk.

jennycatherine:  I feel you Bee! I am ALWAYS coming across things (not just for my wedding) that I can only get in the US *grumble* – I am DIY’ing a lot too.

I love Amazon.ca – I got 100 organza bags super cheap shipped FREE from China lol took awhile to come though

I can give you some recommendations if I know what you are after?
