I think it’ll come down to your mom’s style but Melanie Lynn & Laura have more traditional dresses.  if you’d like something trendier i would suggest The Dress Room at the Bay and Holt Renfrew.  A great online place to look for ideas of the look your mom is going for would be Nordstroms, and they happen to ship to Canada now.

There are a few nice shops around the Yorkdale area on Orfus Road. My mom got hers at Edith’s Fashions which is about 5 minutes north of Yorkdale. Edith’s is a bit pricey, but they have some really gorgeous stuff.

I am not from Toronto but I love Ricki’s stuff for myself and they have some great dresses right now.  Also Sears has some holiday dresses out.

Both have their dresses online.  Good Luck!

Not sure if i’m too late or not, but i’d suggest Laura (in most malls), or Ritche (on Avenue Rd/Lawrence)

I guess it depends on what style you are looking for.

My mom got hers at RW&co and bought a nice shrug. My wedding was pretty low key though, only semi-formal so that was fine. Obviouslt there are bridal stores etc as well. My mother in law got hers made.
