We went to the Excellence Playa Mujeres in Mexico. Flew out from Toronto on May 9th and went for 9 days. Paid about $6,000 for one of their rooftop terrace suites and it was the most magical 9 days of our lives. Amazing AI! Can’t say enough wonderful things about that place and we are already trying to book a trip back and it’s only been 5 months that we’ve gotten back haha

We did Paris for 10 days and flew out of Vancouver on Air Transat mid August. We spent probably around $4500 including food, flights, hotels and passes to do stuff. I don’t recommend Europe in the summer especially towards then end of August since a lot restaurants and such are closed, plus the city itself seemed to be exhausted from tourist season. It’s difficult to honeymoon in August since most of the typical sunny destinations are going through hurricane season. What’s your location, where are you considering going, wat do you want to do? Are you looking to relax and stay in your room or are you looking for more of a vacation and what time of year are you considering?

We went to New York City. I’d never been (DH went about 11 years ago with his parents). It was a last-minute decision. We left Monday and came back Saturday. I think we spent around $4000 ($2500 for flights/accommodation from Toronto and stayed in Times Square, and about $1500 in spending money/food).

I’d always wanted to see NYC and DH said he wanted to make that dream come true for me. We only did a few days because I’d already taken 2 and a half weeks of holidays and couldn’t get too many more days off…turns out I ended up with 4 weeks off but that’s a whole other issue there! lol (We were in the middle of forest fires and were forced to evacuate, so I ended up getting 4 weeks off of work…and even gained 5 days back for my holidays with the way it worked out..BONUS!)

Hey there! We did a mini moon in Collingwood for three days after the wedding. Stayed at the Westin and got upgraded suite and complimentary valet, went to the spa, took advantage of the hot tub and year round heated pool and just relaxed. It was awesome and exactly what we needed after the wedding!

And now we just booked The Royalton Punta Cana all inclusive for 7 days in February! I’m so excited!!!! I am really glad we had a quiet few days away right after the wedding and then travelled further later.

berchiena:  We went to London England, tacked it on to the end of a trip to India for a wedding so our budget is hard to pin down.

We did AirBnB and rented a great little apartment that I’d 100% recommend.  We loved it.  DH isn’t much of one for lying on the beach and we generally want to keep busy so London was a great choice for us.

We went to Riu palace in Cabo san lucas Mexico. We left from Vancouver. We stayed for a week at an all inclusive. It was $3000ish and with our excursions and spending money it was just over $4000

We went to Hawaii. Drove over to Detroit (we’re in SWON), and flew from there. We were gone 12 days. Budget is tough bc my parents paid for a lot of it, but I want to say all in was about $7-8k. This was also when the dollar was *much* better

We went to Hawaii (Oahu) for 11 days. Stayed in two hotels and one hostel (no hotels in that area of the island). We went on plenty of adventure tours, spent so much money on eating out. I have no idea what we spent, but if I had to guess, all in, it was probably around 10K  But it was WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!

Edit – should have noted, we got married in August but waiting until November to go on our honeymoon ๐Ÿ™‚

We went to Greece for 3 weeks. We flew from Montreal directly to athens. We stayed in 3-4* hotels, rented cars and moved a lot (island hopping, Peloponnese, crete). It was around 7-8k for both of us.

Jamaica for 10 days ๐Ÿ™‚ Flew from Calgary to Toronto to Montego Bay. We stayed at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in an Oceanfront Suite. It was approx. $8,000 through Westjet Vacations.

Best vacation we have taken! I put together a 27-page PowerPoint report on all the places we could go (Mexico, Bahamas, Jamaica, St. Lucia, etc.) because I couldn’t narrow it down! My husband thought I was nuts ๐Ÿ™‚

We are thinking St. Lucia possibly, flying from Toronto. The resort we are looking at is all inclusive and the whole trip should be less than $4000. We havent made a decision yet though.
