FrenchToastnCoffee : I really wanted to go to Réunion for our honeymoon, but we went to Curacao instead. I think the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao) were further south than most of the worst affected Caribbean islands, so that could work and IIRC, Bonaire is supposed to be brilliant for diving.

Thanks for all the tips ladies! This may not be the best call but we’re going to Bali. We’re out the cost of the honeymoon, if we don’t.
Unfortunately, 2 out of the 3 hotels we are staying at, refuse to credit our card. They’ll change our date, but not give us our money back. The third hotel outright refused. After checking with our travel insurance, get this:
SEISMIC VOLCANIC ACTIVITY IS SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDED FROM INSURANCE COVERAGE! WTH?!
On Tuesday a magnitude 6.7 quake struck in the Flores Sea, just northeast of Bali, but was not enough to trigger an eruption.
This was followed by a magnitude 5.2 earthquake, which hit the Banda Sea in Indonesia’s Maluku Islands yesterday (October 25).
More than 180,000 people in Bali have been forced to abandon their homes to escape a possible Mount Agung eruption.
IDK how this is going to go. Hoping for some R & R, but may end up assisting in a humanitarian crisis.
Super boring side note: We had time with our jobs to adjust benefits, beneficiaries, and trusts, before our trip. Most of our paperwork is handled, should the worst happen. He has a daughter, and so having our assets & finances updated and in order is a priority, especially when we travel.
