One of my husband’s friend is a 45 year old mama’s boy with parents just like your boyfriend’s. He married one of my best friends (I met her through him) and he let his family ruin their marriage. They dated for 10 years before his parents came here from abroad. My friend was completely devastated by how much her husband changed when is parents got here. The way they treated her was awful and he never once stood up for her. The parents lived with them, so she couldn’t escape their meanness. Once she had her baby, they really amped up their attempts to control and undermine her. It was so sad to see because she’s a really amazing person. She left with her infant son and married a guy that treats her the way she deserves.

My husband’s friend is now on his 3rd marriage. His parents still live with him and I’m sure they make is 3rd wife’s life just as miserable as they did the first 2. Take everyone’s advice and leave. It will save you a lot of heartache and misery. Things will only get worse once you are married, and that won’t even begin to compare to how bad things will be once you have a baby.

Some words of wisdom about mama’s boys (stolen from elsewhere)

It’s easier to dump a mama’s boy than it is to divorce a mama’s boy.

And both are easier than trying to change a mama’s boy.
