I don’t think you should put them straight on the ground, it might look a little weird, imo. What if you put two at the beginning of the aisle right where the chairs start and then 2 behind you like a backdrop, so that its not blocking anyones face. And then you could line the aisle with candles on the floor.

Exposed candle flame sitting near the floor (and near your dress!) seems like a safety hazard. People do not normally look down to be aware of the lit flames. I could easily see someone’s flowy dress/scarf/purse passing over the low flame and catching fire. If the flames were up on the column, and thus at eye level, people would be more aware and safer with the flame.

I agree with the above poster. I think they would look kind of haphazard on the floor, but I think if you put them where she said, it would be a nice compromise and wouldn’t obstruct wide shots.

Although I do have to say, it will only be a few shots in that exact spot as it is. It does look really nice on the columns…

@Marissa1986: Yeah so what I was thinking was to put 2 on the columns right where the aisle starts, where you would be making your entrance down the aisle, and then 2 on the columns behind you on either side of the altar, or even on the altar like you were thinking!

Or, you could raise them up off the floor but use shorter columns. The candelabras on their own are quite tall, so a shorter pillar or block of some kind would raise them to where they would be just above your guests’ heads, not obstructing anyone’s line of vision,

Pillars or columns come in many different heights
