Can you use a hurricane vase or is that still considered an open flame?

If you can’t have any flames (and I think that’s what most venues mean by no open flame) there are the LED “candles” that are battery operated- here’s a link with a whole bunch of examples:

Rosychicklet–Most venues I know refer to open flames as candles that are not enclosed, vs. specifically banning candles etc.  Hurricanes should be okay.

Martha Stewart has a couple of awesome ideas.  We used rectangular vases from Ikea, covered them in striped vellum (MS also has a lace pattern, and I’ve seen solid-colored tissue paper done too).  Here’s a mock up of what we did, sitting on a tinfoil square, rather than the mirrored tiles our caterer provided..
