I would guess that means basically no open flame. Double check with your venue!

I agree with the above posters.  Probably they don’t want uncovered flames like tapered candles or candles not in holders.  Double check with them to be sure, but that’s what I would assume.

We have the same rule at our ceremony venue. It means that the whole candle and the whole flame has to be inside the vase.

Yeah, our rule was the same that any candles had to be in a container that covered the flame.
