So, my wedding is a 10:30 am and than the reception follows. My florist said that if I get the bowls which would be 6-8 inch lilly round bowls or whatever she could do a simple centerpeice for $10 per table. She said since my colors are Navy blue white and yellow that she would float alternate 3 yellow and white gerbs like two white and one yellow in one vase and 2 yellow and one white in another. Do you think that is enough for a centerpiece I don’t want anything huge, but this almost seems like it’s not enough. She said if I wanted to add like 3 votives i could too and just to leave them on the table for her to do something with. I mean she does this for a living and she’s done tones of wedding I’m sure she’s not going to steer me wrong, but Does it seem bland to anyone else. Any tips or ideas please that I could take to her?

Ok, I’m a little confused, but I think I’ve got it. Your florist wants to do one bowl with water and float three white and yellow gerbera daisies in them, and that’s all? What about the navy? Can she do a mock-up for you?
If you like this basic idea but think it’s too bland, there are a couple of things you could do to spice it up. You could put interesting rocks in the bottom of the vases. A few petals or blooms and maybe some of the rocks used in the bottom of your vase scattered outside the vase would look good on their own, or with votives that have a navy ribbon tied around them. I wouldn’t worry about candles during the day, they always look pretty.
If you want to break it up a little bit, gerbera daisies look great on their own, so you could do smaller vases, maybe of different heights, and put one bloom in each with a few rocks in the bottom, and do a similar thing with the blooms and rocks around the vase. If you need a picture to visualize it, let me know.
Good luck 🙂

Yes you understood me right. Sorry sometimes I have a hard time putting my thoughts into words and also my hands get carried away and I think faster than I can type. Pictures would be great I’m horrible at just visualizing something I need pictures LOL for almost everything. I suck at creativity.

It sounds like what your florist has planned doesnt really include the navy…maybe you could add a navy ribbon or something?? Or you could consider adding some sort of navy fabric under them, or table runners! If you’re going to do gerbera daisies, they look gorgeous on their own in vases with stems and all, althought the floating look is good if youre worried about centerpieces being too tall for guests to talk over them. Maybe you could add floating candles with the floating flowers (not sure if thats a fire hazard…). See if your florist will do a mock-up for you…that’s probably your best bet at seeing what you think. 🙂 Good luck!
