It doesn’t seem like candles would be necessary.  But if you are wanting them and asking if they are  still OK to have, I say yes.  They still add to the atmoshpere.  Are they scented?  That also has  an affect.  I think with it being open air, could the candles get blown out easily?  If so, maybe skip them.  But on the other hand, having scented candles would be nice.  The scent would probably not be too overpowering, as it could be in an enclosed environment.

As for other table decorations, I’d look into beachy stuff.  How about shells, sand, starfish.  I’ve heard of people having fish (beta, goldfish???).  But I also think someone on Wb posted that something happened to all of the fish at a reception and were all dead by the end of the evening 🙁

And you can’t go wrong with flowers…

Have candles if you want them, it’s your day!  I agree with Tayna123 that a scented candle might be nice too.  You can have the beachy air and mix it with lavender or a scent you really like for a little touch.  You could do sumburged flowers and floating cadles or just floating flowers in bowls with gems that will catch the light.  Shells, sand, nets, driftwood would all be great too.
