I’m having and outdoor, daytime wedding and have been thinking about using candles or not for the decor. I want to have cylinder vases with flowers and decorative stones and my sister suggested adding candles to the decor. But I’m not sure if having candles at an outdoor daytime wedding looks good. I mean, there would be no real purpose to have them and lighting them would be silly.
What do you gals think?

I’d be worried the wind would blow them out.

Do mean floating candles in the vases or like votives around the centerpieces? I think votives would be a waste as no one would be able to see the flame.

candles inside during the day can help change the ambiance, but candles outside would be a complete waste.

I think their light would get lost outdoors, in the daytime.
If you’re wedding goes into early evening, then I’d say go for it.

I think it would be a waste of money for outdoor candles. Inside, it would make a difference, but not outside. People wouldn’t even be able to see them.

Thanks for your opinions girls.. initially I had thought of something like this:
But I thought that it would look strange in the daytime. It might go onto 6 or 7 pm but during the summer that’s still daytime!
I won’t waste my money on candles then !!

I think candles are always pretty. They’re just prettier when it’s dark out. Use them if you want to.

Night or day candles are there for the decor not for lighting, so you could use them during daytime. Have in mind though that the effect of them won’t be the same as in at night time…

I think it could be really pretty depending on how you do it. I love looks like this:
You could also do the floating candle look (or sub water with your stones):
