I have been to two weddings with candy buffets and they’re always a hit.

I have not been to a wedding with it, but a conference and it was so popular! I know I loved it!

If there were swedish fish, I’d probably take the whole bowl out from under your nose Wink

@ejs – ours had swedish fish – they were definitely going to be a part of our day!

@College – ours was a huge hit. The first batch was done in 15 minutes. The last batch was finished in just about the same amount of time. Everyone loved it and majority of the guests have never seen some something like that before. The adults were like kids and since some of them didn’t know it was for everyone they had others fill up a bag for them in “secret”, lol…

What we did was incorporate candies that we loved as children to spice it up. We had swedish fish, 2 kinds of m&m’s, mini-snickers, cow tails, mini-reese’s cups, Mike & Ike’s, etc.

Umm, ours was gone by the first half of our reception!

Even some of my older, more traditional family members who couldn’t quite grasp the candy buffet concept totally ended up loving it and grabbed a bunch for themselves.

Honestly I don’t see how you could go wrong with offering candy to your guests. For us, it was never a question because we’re both candy-obsessed.

I can’t wait to do mine! Hearing these stories makes me happy. Hopefully my guests love it as much as yours did!

We’re doing our favorites too. At first we were going by color, but we decided we just wanted yummy candy instead.

Were doing one, and I recently attended my future BIL’s wedding last year with it, and everyone loved it.  Plus, it looks so nice!  Great pics and a favor idea all in one!

From what most Bees report, they are usually a huge hit and can even cause a mad dash for candy.

@ Chapstick & @ Jingle: Do you know how much candy was bought per person for those buffets? I have seen between 1/4 and 1/2 pound per person, but even with snacking, 1/2 seems like a lot. I know one of the blogging Bees mentioned seeing a pound per person the other day and, I’m sorry, but that seems like WAY TOO MUCH. If my guests need a pound of candy each, why am I paying for dinner? :oP

@whitesonnet- lol. I was wondering this myself. I have seen varyign accounts of how much as well. I want there to be enough and knowing my family, it will definitely get eaten.
