They recomend 1/4 pund per person.. I am doing one. I am having 150 people and i plan to have 12 different jars of candy. Each jar will hold 6+/- pounds! You want to get alot to make it look nice too.. You dont want a chincy candy bar 🙂 good luck!

I got my candy at ACandyStore.com. I purchased for approx. 50 guests. We will be having less, so we may have extra candy after the wedding, but I purchased candy that I know we will want to eat, so it won’t go to waste. The cost was just over $160.00 for the following:

  • Milk Chocolate Pecan Turtle – 5lbs
  • French Burnt Peanuts – 5lbs
  • Mary Janes Candy – 5lbs
  • Sesame Snaps – 2pkgs/24 each
  • Rootbeer Candy Sticks – 1pkg/80ct
  • Pop Rocks Xtreme – 1pkg/48ct

@noritake22: & @jenlee1 Wow!  Nice looking buffets ladies!  I have to agree with you on the quantity thing, Jenlee.  We ususally tell people 1/2 pound per person with the caveats that if you want to have a really nice, full looking candy buffet the per-person number doesn’t matter as much as:

-how big is your table?

-how impressive do you want your candy buffet to be?  Elegant addition to the party or show-stopper?

-will there be anything else on the table? cakes, pastries, desserts, take away boxes, etc.

It seems like a lot to think about, but it’s not too bad.  The main question people have is:  “How much is 5 pounds of bulk candy?”  The answer depends on which type of candy you are asking about.  We’ve made some videos that help answer that though.  You can find them on the product pages on our site.  Here’s a link to the one for M&M’s:

Hope this is helpful.
