Hello bees I am wanting to do a candy buffet at my reception I need some ideas though. What candy would be good to use my wedding colors are purple white and silver. How much candy do I need for 100 people? HOw many different types of candy should I use? Any pics you can share or experiences that may help? Where can I find good affordable candy jars

There are websites where you can choose candy by color:
You can get containers at stores like TJ Maax, Tuesday Morning, K Mart, Target
You can also buy used containers from http://www.recycledbride.com and Craigslist.

You can also buy candy jars at stores like Marshalls and TJ Maxx, but we found most of ours at thrift stores. As for the amount, one way to do it is to estimate 1/2 – 3/4 lb per person, or you could do it by what looks best filling the jars.
We used about 9 different types of candy for our 120 person buffet.

I posted on another forum recently…party city had mostly all the candy I wanted for relatively. Cheap! They have 14 oz knock off m&m bags, in single colors…tried them, they’re great! Same for suckers, gummy bears (haven’t tried those) and sixlets. You can get coupons through email with them. Sams club has great candy in bulk, better if you’re not doing a color theme (m&ms, skittles, peppermint patty’s, ferrero rochet, starburst, etc). a candy store in my rural ohio own also had jelly Belly’s at $9 a pound and candy stick suckers .20 each. sometimes a candybstore has great prices, esp a mom and pop store like the one i shopped at!Happy candy bar-ing 🙂
