I think it depends mostly on what type of candy you are going to have on the candy buffet. We are having some popcorn balls also, so we are going with the bigger size. I would say the 4 by 6, it’d be better to have the bags too big than not big enough. Our wedding is rustic chic so we are doing burlap bags and we are going to have a tag that says “Thank You for Sharing Our Special Day With Us – Kelli & Jason – June 30, 2012.”

I ordered plain ole mini white paper baggies from oriental trading co and rubber stamped them with a cute little bride and groom stamp to give them some personality.

@Eight6Eleven:

I actually love that idea, its so economical but charming at the same time! We used the smaller organza bags filled with m&ms, but they would be a bit small for a candy buffet, I was going to suggest she use the larger ones but I like your idea even better!

a word of caution, I used the organza bags as well and they were fine and very pretty, but if people left them up against their water glasses the condensation dissolved the candy dyes and it bled into the linens (it didnt stain or anything, but if your renting you may want to go with a more waterproof bag)

sorry to keep posting but take a look at your local craft store in the wedding section, they usually have a number of favor bags and containers so you could buy a few and try them out. I bought all mine a JoAnns and AcMoore.

You could also try muslin bags, which you can definitely stamp on, and won’t give you the bleeding-dye issue.
