    I think you should make one for everyone just in case and if you have extras, you can disburse them later.

    I don’t think everyone will want one and having additional candy at the table allows them to pick something else. Mostly though I think 80 candy apples might crowd the candy buffet. If I did 80 apples, I’d skip the other candy.

    The candy buffet is a great idea.  You’ll need about 1/2 lb. per person if you’re using it as your favor.  I’d skip the apples and opt for more candy or add some trays of chocolates.  If you’re doing about 40 pounds of candy be sure to get some sweet, sour and chocolate to mix it up.  Get varying sizes of jars.  Our brides and grooms love this idea and their guests are always thrilled to feel like that kid in a candy store again.  Also, place the candy buffet where it can be seen, and put a sign on the table that says what time the buffet opens.  That way your guests will be waiting in anticipation.  Good luck.
