I’m doing mine myself. So far we’ve spent $28 on the jars/containers. We’re hoping to spend not more than $50 on the candy at a bulk store. Since we’re having about 45 guests, that’s just around $2/person!

@trugem: I’ve been slowly collecting apothecary jars from Marshalls/TJ Maxx and right now  there’s a 50% coupon you can get online for Michael’s so you could go by vases there for 50% off this week.  I’m lucky I have more then enough time to scope out deals.

@trugem: I bought 2 at Ikea, and the other 6 at Home Sense, which I think it the same as TJ MAxx in the States! They came in a package of 3, 9.99/package. I don’t know if we’ll end up using all of them or not.

I’m going the DIY route. I found all of my jars and scoops on Craigslist! I’ve also gotten a couple of things from the classifieds here on Weddingbee but I’ve only bought from local sellers to avoid high shipping fees. We’re planning on getting candy from Costco which will put us (hopefully) at around $1.50 – $2 a person.

I spent about $60 on candy and maybe $20 on jars + scoops + bags + stickers.

We had 75 guests so thats about $1 pp.  It wasn’t a main focus at my wedding – just a fun little thing on the side!

Ours was probably at around $100 total for 150ppl and that’s including 200 cute take out boxes! We did it ourselves and the only “namebrand” candy we had were kisses and m&m’s everything else were just lollipops, gumballs, gummy bears and other random stuff. We only bought two containers and all the rest were either borrowed or were already in our house. It came out awesome and everyone was super duper impressed.
