I was just out shopping for the very same thing today. I have found that the 1/2 pint (8 ounce) boxes are big enough. If you’ve ever had Chinese food, it’s the half order size. Complimentary rice usually comes in that size box. The full pint boxes are way too big, in my opinion.

I will probably order mine from Oriental Trading. They have frosted plastic takeout boxes–adorable!

1/2 pint is 8oz or 1cup. Grab a measuring cup from your kitchen to see how much that is. I think that’s a good size. I’ve seen them at the local smart & final but haven’t been back to find the price again. I think they had 3 sizes. Uline looked like a pretty good deal, but I think Smart&Final was cheaper. Uline has colored boxes if you’re going for those. Smart&Final has just the white. They are called oyster pails. I’m watching Food network and they are talking about them and chinesefood. They came about when the oyster market started to cut back on buisness and they had to find another use for the boxes. I’m still trying to figure out if I want to use the oyster pails or make some wax paper bags.

Papermart has tons of these boxes at insanely cheap prices! And the half pint is the perfect size.

You can get FIFTY 1/2 pint boxes of the white ones for $4.73!!! Wrap a ribbon around that puppy and it will be cute as can be!

that is the lowest price i’ve seen for those. Thanks for posting that. I’m happy they have red even!
