I’m trying to stick to my budget, so I have to decide between having a candy buffet or getting a photobooth. There will be tons of food & cake, so I’m leaning toward the photobooth. But I’d like to know what you all think?

I think a photobooth is better for a number of reasons. One, you said you will have tons of food and cake. Two, there is a lot of crap in candy that is not found in regular food. That will make your wedding healthier. Three, photographs last longer than the seconds it takes to consume candy (unless it is an ever-lasting gobstopper).

Candy buffetts hold no appeal to me. I don’t see the point in having one.
Photobooths give lasting memories. Candy buffetts give lasting plaque build-up.
Photobooth gets my vote.

what kind of photobooth are you looking at though?
if you do open air one, they are more affordable, if you do the close one, the ones in my area cost 1000+ for a min. 4-5 hours.
In my opinion, as long as you don’t mind not color matching all the candies, they can be done very affordably. Buy them in bulk from costco and find some containers from dollar stores etc…and voila!
I am doing a DIY candy buffet at my wedding. I don’t want people to touch the candies so I am getting those in wrapped (like M&M party sizes) etc. We picked all the candies we like, like Kit Kat, Reeses…etc..I might provide some goodie bags for to go but that’s purely optional.

Photobooth. Candy buffet is good for a bat mitzfah. People will appreciate the photos more.

I don’t think you can go wrong either way. Our photogs set up a mock photobooth kind of thing. They just set up a prop table in a corner or the room and took pictures instead of us renting a full photobooth (which there was NO WAY I was going to pay what those companies were asking for). We did a candy buffet also, but we got married the day before Halloween.
Our guests raved and raved about both things.

I vote photobooth. Candy is nice and all, but you’ll already have a cake. The photos seem a lot more fun to me.

I’m not a fan of the photobooths I like the candy buffets because you can be creative and it adds a lot to the decor. People can snack all night!

I think you can DIY a photo booth really easy. I was just at a wedding where they had a bucket full of props, a friend with a nice camera and one of those instnant printers that you can just pop the memory card in and print in a couple minutes. It worked great! And I don’t think it was that expensive. I love sweets, but if you already have a lot of food, I think the photos are a better option.

Thanks for all the great advice! I’ve decided to go with the photobooth. There is a really great groupon in my area, where I can get one for 1/2 price. Going to book it today! Thanks again!!
