I am new to this site, so hi! I really like the candy buffet idea – I had never heard of it until I read about it in the favors postings. So my main question is, is the candy buffet something that is set out during the entire reception? Or, does someone set it up later on in the evening?
We are doing a cocktail/buffet reception.
Secondary question: Where to put the candy buffet? There is a separate room where the buffet table will be. Would that be a good place? OR . . . there is a larger open area where the bar will be set up – would that be better?
Thanks for your suggestions!

I set up my candy buffet before the reception so by the time people get in they can appreciate how beautiful it is. By setting up early you can see it and change anything you want as well. I put my candy table in the same room as people are sitting. The food is in one room and candy is right across from it but it’s in a seperate area so people don’t scramp around. Set it up a bit further from the bar since alot of people will be there.
Hope that helps.
Here are some pictures from my wedding in case you need some ideas.
My Candy Table

We are actually reusing the same table that will hold our escort cards (and the same centerpiece) for our candy bar. During dinner, the candy bar will be created by my on-site coordinator. We are going to do a test of the look prior to the wedding- which I highly suggest- to make sure you 1) have enough candy 2) really like how things are layed out and 3) have enough candy! I started collecting a lot of inspirational photos, and I’ve included a few below. Good luck!
