Just curious if you have an opinion on this… FH & I are offering a Candy Buffet as our favor and want to include a variety of some popular treats. I’ve looked up America’s most popular candies but I’m looking for additional insight from you (not just what Forbes says the U.S. sells the most of).
That said, if you’ve been to a wedding that had a Candy Buffet – do you remember them having a candy that was really special to you? Maybe brought you back to your childhood as the best thing ever? In the summertime, what would your candy must-haves be?
Thanks for the input!

Saltwater Taffy would be high on my list! You could only use certain colors if you wished.

Oooo that’s a great suggestion! Thanks! 🙂

Salt water taffy screams summer to me. Flavors like watermelon, lemon, peach…
Candy necklaces, lemon drops, Bazooka Joe bubblegum, peach rings, Circus peanuts…

Circus peanuts get me every time for memories, but not everyone likes though. As well as any “old fashioned” candy found out Cracker Barrel, especially the sanded candies.
Plus random things like Razzles and candy cigarettes.

cotton candy, lollipops and rock candy sticks!!

You could do Jelly Bellys in your colors, I’m doing that for a shower I’m hosting this weekend.

@ccantics – Thanks for the input and great website!
Love the suggestions @KatyElle, @Legallyblondiebride, & @JenniB. I especially love Jelly Belly’s!!

Those old fashioned candy sticks! You can get them in your colors. We’re doing them…and I’ve stolen some suggestions from here, too. Thanks 🙂

Yes definitely @kate02121.
I’m surprised there have been no chocolate suggestions… worried about melting perhaps? We’ll be indoors in the A/C. I love chocolate!! 🙂

@HappyToBeeMe11: I was thinking the same thing about chocolate! I love M&Ms – I’m pretty sure you can get them in specific colors, if you want.

@mightywombat: I think M&Ms would be great, too!
Chocolate covered pretzels (mini) too.

Salt water taffy, mike and Ike’s, peach rings, sour patch kids… M and m’s… I love the chocolate covered pretzel suggestion… Rock candy… Tootsie rolls…. Chocolate covered nuts… Skittles… Twizzlers (they come in rainbow colors, so you may even be able to make them color coordinate for you)….
For the choc covered options, you could do white chocolate and have it dyed in your colors…

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I’m of course, salivating now. 😉

Here’s some sites that might help with ideas, the lay out, finding sites, etc…
Some other candy ideas… gum balls, jordan almonds, cake pops!!, orange slices, starburts, gummy bears/worms, Really anything in the bulk candy section at a local grocery store (it would be classic and often you can find a variety of colors to fit your needs – lots of gummy sour candies in different colors), jelly beans, hersheys hugs/kisses,
This site has pics of some classy looking candy buffets…
