We’re getting married in the south of France which is known for, amongst other things, lavender. I was thinking about making small pouches of lavender which people could place in their drawers, etc. But I also wanted to have M&Ms in our wedding colors with our photo on it because a) it’s super cute and b) my french family hasn’t seen anything like that before.
Another option is to do the lavender bags and then just place the M&Ms in a big candy jar to the side or by the welcome table instead of doing individual bags.

I thought dragees were too common? But we might add some to the cake for decoration. Maybe I can add some to the candy jar as well. Thanks for the suggestion!

As long as they aren’t together nothing wrong with both. I love a tasty treat!

I agree, dragees are very common in France. That is the reason we are doing them because we are getting married in California.
I think that the M&M’s are a great idea! Since they do not have M&M’s in France… Smarties just doesn’t work for me. lol

I think the M&Ms make a great treat, but that the lavender is much more useful! Use the M&Ms at the wedding for a sweet snack and send people home with the lavender.

i voted for m&ms. i’m not a fan of smelly stuff like lavender sachets and whatnot. i understand the usefulness but i’d rather have the candy.

Mmmm. I love lavender, it’s one of my favorite scents. I say you put a jar of M&M’s with a scoop by the door and send them home with lavender.

Okay, I HATE lavender with the fire of a thousand suns (I used to work in a gift shop that sold lots of lavender products and I think it’s just over exposure) so I clicked no Lavender…. but then I read WHY you’d include it and I think that’s really lovely. So I think you should include the lavender because that’s a nice thing that you can take home and keep and it has meaning. It’s especially nice for any out of town or international guests. I think you should do both because then your french guests get the m&m’s and your guests get something practical with the lavender. Win, Win!

I LOVE lavender, but I know someone that says they are alergic to it. Hmm. I think it is charming considering France is known for it, so I say go for it.
