The canned.  It makes me nostalgic. ๐Ÿ™‚

RedHeadKel:  I always serve both! It may be stupid, but for some people the canned kind is Thanksgiving and others wouldn’t touched the canned stuff ever! Enjoy!

I’ve never had homemade, so I use canned.

RedHeadKel:  I expect it to be realitively tart in comparison since the canned is LOADED with sugar (yum!). It was just no bueno ๐Ÿ™ At least i tried! lol

RedHeadKel:  My mom used to chop up the canned cranberry sauce to try to make it look “homemade” and would pass it off as such haha.  My dad relished getting it out of the can with the perfect ridges… haha.

I love canned and DO NOT like homemade with the whole cranberries. I really think it’s because it’s what I was raising eating though. To each their own, in this case.

I thought I just hated cranberries growing up, because all I ever had was the canned stuff.  A few years back we started making homemade and I LOVE it!  It’s incredible how much of a difference there is.  I love the tartness.  I wish people ate cranberry sauce year round!

I like mine on the tart side, but you can make it as sweet as you want!

I have switched to almost everything homemade, despite growing up in a home where almost everything was canned/premade. I make homemade dressing, potatoes, gravy, dinner rolls, stuffing, pies, and use a fresh heritage breed turkey. But despite having tried many recipes for homemade cranberry sauce, I just cannot get used to it. I shamefully admit that we use jellied cranberry sauce from a can because I love it.

My grandma had this recipe for cranberry sauce with grated orange peel that was awful! It was so sour and tasted too much like orange peel and pith- you know, the part normal people throw away. Grandma is gone now, but my mom or aunts usually make grandma’s cranberry sauce, but my brother or I bring a couple of cans of the delicious gel (which grandma would rather starve than serve at her table)

Cranberry and orange can be a delicious combo- my grandma’s recipe is just a klunker. Don’t let my experience stop you from trying ๐Ÿ™‚
