Could you do a cocktail hour and serve certain drinks free between the ceremony and reception and then have a cash bar the rest of the night? That’s what my Fiance and choosing to do at our wedding. We may consider purchasing a keg so that people could have beer during the night and I would like the serve champagne with dinner. Maybe not have a cash bar ALL night but if you could do an open bar for an hour or two guests may appreciate it.

brokeninnj:  Can you have a cash bar? I agree w/ PPs that a cash bar is better than NO bar and usually a bartender won’t be more than $100-$200 (since they’ll make a killing on alcohol usually).
