It seems like I’ve been shopping for wedding dresses forever, I simply can’t seem to like anything enough. After visiting every possible bridal shop in my town as least twice, I ended upkind of liking two dresses.
I really like the sweetheart neckline on the first dress as well as how flattering it looks. For some reason I am not too fond of the ruched part and it looks too retro to me, although I do realize that that is what makes the dress so flattering.
The A gown on the other hand is very comfy and may be better suited for the garden wedding that we will be having. What I don’t really like about it is the upper part as it accentuates just how skinny I am.
Please help me decide which dress suits me better.

First one by far Bee. You have a beautiful figure and it’s so much more flattering on you.
Agree it is a little retro/past sort of style with the ruching…if I was you I’d look for others in that shape for maybe different material.

The first one looks better on you for sure. The second one mine of reminds me of a vintage nightgown or something. It’s not terrible, but it’s not particularly flattering to your figure in my opinion.

The first is far more flattering, or something else along those lines. I’d forget about the second, it does nothing for you.

I almost always prefer an A line dress, but the second one does nothing for you. You have an awesome figure, so it isn’t you; it’s the dress. I think an A line gown with a fitted top would look amazing, but between these two I’d go mermaid.

dinati : I much prefer the second gown. The first one is a very common style, seen again and again. The second one, in spite of its simplicity, manages to be different. Not many women would be able to wear an opening that goes to the waist without it being somewhat “scandalous”; you’re one of the few who can manage it. Also, the second gown offers many more styling possibilities than the first gown.

I have to be honest, you will look gorgeous in ANYTHING! Your figure is to die for. But the first style accentuates your shape so well. Seriously, it’s perfect. The second one you almost get lost in.

I chose the A gown simply because you look so happy in it 🙂
honestly- you could wear a bin bag and look beautiful.
so find the one that has your heart leap just a little, and don’t worry about judging from what others might think. (“makes me look too thin” or “dated,”) … you do look so very happy in dress #2 🙂

I also like the first one far better than the second one. I don’t care about its upper part either.
Is there a dress you found online that you really like? That kind of ticks all the boxes?
If you’re still not sure, what are your options timewise, economically etc.?
Is having a customized dress an option? You could for example travel to another city where they have more options or – depending on where you live – order something from BHLDN or Nordstrom. Or look at stillwhite.com, preownedweddingdress.com, ebay.com or oncewed.com where there are quite a lot of dresses that never have been worn nor altered, but cost less…

Mermaid/sweetheart gown by a mile! I don’t think the ruching looks dated at all. It’s a very simple and classic silhouette and quite timeless in my opinion!

I agree that you look happier in the A-line gown, but I never know if that is due to genuine feelings or whether someone made you laugh or smile while the picture was taken. Without a doubt, you will look amazing in anything, so once the gown is tailored to your body, it will probably look much better. Only you know how you feel in each, and that means a LOT as far as how comfortable and glowing you will be when you marry.

Definitely #1!!! The second dress doesn’t do anything for your amazing figure.

I think the mermaid is the most flattering, but if you’re still not convinced keep shopping!

I love the A line gown on you. When it is fitted for you, it will be gorgeous. You have a beautiful, slender figure. Show it off!
The thing is, I think your face tells the story. Your big smile while wearing the A line says it all, as well as your hesitant expression in the mermaid.

I actually love the second one more for you, and I think proper alterations would make a world of difference. The sample size you’re wearing in the photo is too big and “floppy” on top so it makes you look “extra skinny” as you say, but if it were the proper size it would look super sleek and accentuate your shape so well.
