Can't decide if pretty but uncomfortable shoes are worth it

I wore Lauren Lorraine heels and they were so comfy!! The leather was as soft as butter so they didn’t dig into any places (ankle, toes, etc.) and I got them on a crazy clearance. I think you should wear pretty shoes and then bring some backups to dance in. I do think that a wedge or a stacked heel would be better on the grass. The other option is there are heel guards, I got the ones that turn your heel into a wedge for when we did pics in the park!  Here is my essential heel guide:

1. Break them in. I do this by putting on thick socks and doing housework. This stretches them out, and wears down any stiff parts so they don’t rub. And I just do housework in them, because it has to be done, and I look ridiculous so might as well keep it inside!

2. Put in good insoles. I prefer the leather ones, but find something you like with good cushion. I don’t do this for some shoes, just ones I know I will be standing in all day.

3. Use CBD oil on your feet. Seriously, this changed my life! I roll it on and let it dry and when I wear heels, I can wear them forever without my feet hurting!

Good luck and you can find something beautiful and comfortable!

I bought a pair of Taryn Rose heels for my wedding, because I wanted both comfort AND a bit of glam. The company was founded by an orthopedic surgeon turned shoe designer, so they are specifically constructed to give you optimum comfort, but they’re still pretty. I’ve worn my shoes around the house a bit to break them in, for dress fittings, etc., and I have to say, they really ARE the most comfortable pair of heels I’ve ever worn. Here’s a pic of my shoes:

It doesn’t look (or feel) like it, but those shoes have a 3″ heel height, and I feel like I’m walking on air when I wear them. It’s insane. And I got them for a STEAL of a price (they’re on major sale).

Maybe check out Taryn Rose and see if they have anything that fits your height/style requirements?

Here’s a link to the site, specifically the reason they’re so comfy: https://www.tarynrose.com/comfort-factor

And here’s the link to the shoes I’m wearing, in case anyone is interested in that: https://www.tarynrose.com/styles/sandals/jacklyn-d-90393

And for what it’s worth, I would skip those wedges and find something that works a bit better with your dress. Good luck bee!

It is possible to find cute shoes that are comfortable. You just have to know what you’re looking for. Personally, I would choose a “show” pair of shoes to wear for photos and possibly your first dance. Then, change into a more sensible and comfortable pair of shoes later in the night.

A flatter wedge can be very comfortable. A thick heel with a platform is more comfortable than a thin heel and no platform. I wore these shoes for 6+ hours while walking the strip in Vegas last month.

FH is 6’3″ and I’m 5’4″, but I have a low tolerance for heels and place high value on comfort. I’m likely wearing 2.5″ heels for the ceremony and maybe the first dance, then will change into flats at the reception.

I wore 2.5′ Badgley Mischka heels for photos, the ceremony, and the cocktail hour, and then as soon as we sat down I kicked them off and did not put them back on until the very end of the night. I’m not used to wearing heels, and they were pinch-y around the toes. Very cute, though! I’m 5’2″ and everyone around me is always taller, so I was glad to have them for a little extra height, but any higher and I probably wouldn’t have been able to walk. But my husband isn’t super tall, so that wasn’t really a concern.

somedaymrsj :  These are absolutely gorgeous! If my fiance was a little taller I would totally wear these, but I’m 5’7″ and he’s 5’9″. $43 though!! I might have to get them anyway.

JenJennyJennifer :  Right? They’re even prettier in person! I absolutely fell in love with them when I saw them, and I could not say no at that price, either. My dress is kind of a rose gold color, so they go with it perfectly, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

somedaymrsj :  My colors are rose gold, blush, cream and charcoal. These will be mine…even if I just wear them for the rehearsal. Thanks for posting them! Edit: Just bought them!

Im a slut for a glitter high heel.  Hubby is only 5’7 and I’m 5’9 flat footed so he will just deal with it. My dress is quite long though so it helps. Our vow renewal won’t be a super long ceremony anyway, and I’m having buttons put on my hem line so it doesn’t drag. My maiden name was West, so I’ll be wearing my flat ruby slippers and striped stockings ala Wizard of Oz during the reception.

I wore these badgley mischkas and they were pretty comfy but I am used to wearing high heels. I also was walking on cobblestone.
