My venue is giving me the option of having my ceremony by the gazebo (which I find beautiful, but….typical) or under a tree (which I find beautiful, but I don’t really like arches.)
So, do I do the gazebo out of simplicity, or use the tree and come up with alternatives to an arch for the backdrop? Oh, and there’s a river right alongside both options.
Thanks for the input!

I think trees but not the arch, very pretty by the way.

I like the idea of the trees and have seen some really gorgeous pics. Most of the ones I really like have had something hanging from them to create its own backdrop. So if you’re able to do this, it might be a great way to create the backdrop without using an arch or something like that. Here are a couple of pics for inspiration.
This next one is between 2 trees so I can’t tell if that will work from your picture…
Or here’s a play on this one that I think I got from Smartie, another fellow bee…

Is the arch permanent? If it is, I don’t care for it 🙁
I normally like getting married under a big tree (I did it) but I don’t like that tree b/c I don’t like the stone/gravel they laid down in front of the tree, to me it takes away from the natural look of an outdoor wedding – I think the gazebo in this case is pretty with the lush green lawn.

I second all of arabesque0128’s suggestions. Trees are beautiful backdrops all by themselves. Nothing but some pretty ribbons or flowers, etc. needed. 🙂

I don’t like when a couple goes into a gazebo and can’t be seen by the audience so I’d say remove the arch, drape some ribbon or candles or lanterns or pomanders and use the tree area. Can you remove the arch?
If you can’t remove the arch, I’d go with the gazebo but maybe just on the steps?
Hope that helps!
