@soon2bMrsTaylor: I’m always suprised when brides say they don’t want their ring to look costume-y, it doesn’t have to be small to be considered real. I’d just wave my hand around and brag “Nope, it’s real AND huge” Muhahahahaha!
I don’t know a lot about white gold vs. sterling silver but the white gold may have to be re-dipped at some point. Other posters could probably tell you if the same is true for sterling silver.

I’d go with white gold over sterling silver every time.

@Cory_loves_this_girl: YEs. Sterling silver will not hold up nearly as well.

I like the sterling, but think about what other kind of jewelry you will want to wear and if it will match.

I’d go for white gold over silver, you want it to last a lifetime 🙂

I don’t know why people hate on silver so much. They say its soft and fragile and tarnishes. I have gold rings with just as many scratches as my silver ones and silver doesn’t tarnish much if you wear it. I would go with silver, it’s shinier than white gold and you won’t have to pay for re dipping.

@michiru4ever: it got a sterling silver ring as my fake one for holidays. Alot of the comments stated that after a long time of wearing it the silver faded.

@mchitt329: thanks so much, i think your right.. my Fiance says white gold would hav to be redipped eventually and the only thing w/ the sterling silver is get it polished…. We’re really leaning towards th sterling silver halo ring

If you wear your silver while washing your hands and showering then it does not tarnish quickly. If your silver turns black quickly then it at is a chemical reaction wih your skin and a cheap base metal in the silver. I have silver rings I’ve worn everyday for years and never had to polish them. High quality silver does not tarnish quickly if you wear it.

@soon2bMrsTaylor: No i dont have it yet. I only plan to wear it for like a few weeks a year. Its just a vacation ring so i dont have to risk losing my real one.
But any of my other sterling silver jewelrey has after long wear. Or the finish rubbs off.

@michiru4ever:
thanks for the re-encouragement, we’re thinking about going with moissanite.co, company, from what i see its a reputable company and speaking w/ customer service, it comes w/ a limited lifetime warranty on the gemstone of course-thats helpful, however i’ve owned sterling silver (paid several $100 for some pieces) and to-date all i usually do is get a jewelry cloth and wipe and its back to new.. I really dnt think i’ll have a problem w/ moissanite.com…. But if there’s any ladies out there that has ordered silver from moissanite co, and it’s turned and cleaning did absoutely no justice, please let me know

@Swizzle: if your finish rubbed off then it was rhodium plated. This is not a defect of the silver.
